Fun fact about me: I hate conversation hearts.
I used to not eat them because they were made with such unnatural ingredients. When Necco started making them with natural flavors and colorings, I thought about giving them a try. Then I realized that they would probably still be sweet and chalky. If I’m going to eat something, I want it to taste good. Like dark chocolate.
Don’t get me wrong, I think these little conversation heart Cheesecakes would be amazing:
And these conversation heart macaroons are super cute:
I got a big kick out of these conversation heart hats, too:
I would be more inclined to purchase a bag of conversation hearts to make this fun conversation heart wreath than I would to actually ingest these things.
I’m curious, do you eat conversation hearts?
This post was written as part of BlogHer’s NaBloPoMo February 2013 challenge. Today’s prompt was “What is your favorite Valentine’s Day candy?” Sign ups to participate in this month’s Blog Roll have closed. You can still check out the participating bloggers and the daily prompts. Daily writing prompts can often become a great source of inspiration and encourage you to write about things you haven’t previously explored.
I might take a couple of white ones(and yes, they have to be white) from my kids if they get some, but I generally do not eat them. They are just too sweet.
Being a former educator, I used to use Convo Hearts for writing projects with my Elementary Students. It was always a cute way to do our writing prompts for the month of February. Some days we would use them as a prompt for inspiration. Other days they would have to write a story and glue pieces of the convo onto their paper. Other times we used it to show proper indenting when writing with “speakers”

Interesting idea….and more interesting that you don’t mention actually EATING them!
Have a great weekend!
I do eat them, but only if someone gives them to me. I don’t like them enough to buy them for myself! 🙂

HA! That’s how I feel about tuna fish. I like it, but not enough to buy it and make it myself. (No clue why that popped into my head!)
Have a great weekend!
I’ve never liked them either! So chalky and gross tasting in my opinion. I don’t like Peeps either.

I used to love peeps as a kid – but my mom would never let me have them! Now, I cannot stand the sight of them. And, it’s totally inappropriate that they sell them all year long.
i remeber these back in late 60 and then they were smaller and then they did not have the sying like they do the cake looks great
Eww, no I don’t eat them but I bought some for a girls’ night earlier this month and most of them got eaten!
EEK! You’re a great friend for buying them, I wouldn’t even do that!
they taste gross but are classic
They’re great for crafts and decorations – but I cannot put them in my mouth!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Those conversation heart cheesecakes are so cute! They would be fun to make to take into work on Valentine’s Day, wish I had the time to make ’em 🙂
I wish I had the patience to make those little cheesecakes, never mind the time!
Happy Valentine’s Day, Erin!
I have never liked these unless they were the smartie ones which were so good and now that baskin robbins has the little conversation cakes I am definitely going to try one out.
A conversation heart ice cream cake would probably be amazingly delicious!
I hope you enjoyed it.
Apparently I’m the oddball, lol 🙂 I actually like conversation hearts. My daughter totally agrees with you though, and thinks they’re disgusting.
I love those conversation heart soaps. Super cute!

You’re not an oddball, you just have a unique pallet!
I”m so happy to hear I’m not the only one who can’t stand conversation hearts!!! I don’t even like doing projects with them bc they are so heavy!!! But I’d have to agree that the other adaptations of them (ie cheescake conv. hearts or soaps) are so cute for v-day!
I think they look cute in a jar…and in the trash! I really loathe those little things!
Have a great day!
That wreath is adorable…love that. I hadn’t seen the macaroons before but like those as well
I am okay with a few conversation hearts. What I really like is the all chocolate flavored Necco wafers. Yum! Plus that cheesecake does look really good. 🙂
That wreath is amazing! I wonder how long that would take to make? Looks very tedious!
I agree! I’d buy it if someone wanted to make one for me, I’m sure I wouldn’t have the patience to make it myself.
I agree they have a chalky taste and eating them is not really appealing but they do make cute valentines day decor
I think the only thing Conversation hearts are good for is craft projects! YUK!
I don’t eat them either. It’s the texture more than the taste that really gets me, but I’d rather have a piece of chocolate anyday. Those Conversation Heart C heesecakes though . . . now those I could devour!

If I’m going to have a treat, I’d rather it be chocolate as well. Any other candy seems like wasted calories!
