Tips for Preparing for Holiday Guests and making sure your home #SmellsClean #ad

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here. We’ve cleaned up from a delicious Thanksgiving feast and are gearing up for a fun countdown to Christmas! It’s hard to believe that it is only 24 days way! Now it’s time to start preparing for holiday guests.

One of my favorite things about the holidays is having friends and family drop by for a quick treat, movie night, or coffee. It’s so important to be ready for impromptu guests, especially this time of year. Creating memories with family and friends is what makes the holidays special.

Preparing for Holiday Guests

1| Have Snacks on Hand. With holiday guests comes fun food that you wouldn’t typically serve. Keep a few blocks of cheese in the refrigerator and a variety of crackers in the pantry. You’ll be ready for anyone who stops by.

Did you know that December is clementine season? I love to make chocolate covered orange slices. These simple desserts come together quickly and look so elegant. Your holiday guests will be impressed.

2| Keep a well-stocked beverage station. With the number of people that will be coming into your home this holiday season, it’s important to keep a variety of beverages on hand. We keep flavored seltzers, juices, coffees and teas, beer, wine, and liquor ready to go.

3| Keep your home smelling clean. When you combine guests coming and going with a variety of foods cooking, your home can take on a few unpleasant scents. Beat the stink and ensure your home #SmellsClean by using a few holiday scents found in the air care section of the cleaning aisle at your neighborhood Walmart.

Earlier this year, I discovered Glade® Wax Melts and have been obsessed with them ever since! There are a variety of scents available making it easy to transform your home into a holiday wonderland.

Using candles is another way to add pleasant fragrance to your home. Remember, never leave burning candles unattended or allow children to play near burning candles.

You can also grab a variety of plugin scents, if candles and wax melts don’t appeal to you.

4| Double Up on Bathroom Essentials. Trust me on this! You need to ensure you have an ample supply of toilet paper, hand towels, and hand soap on hand. These items will be used quickly and it’s embarrassing to run out.

5| Vacuum every morning. With guests popping in and out daily, you want your home looking as lovely as possible. Take five minutes each morning to vacuum your common areas.

How do you prepare for holiday guests?

Vacuum every day. I literally laughed out loud at that one. I don’t think it will happen, but at least I’m all set with toilet paper. 🙂

We have a shell driveway, maybe that’s why vacuuming daily doesn’t seem out of the ordinary?!
