August. It’s the Sunday of Summer. You know what I mean, don’t you? We spent August trying to have all of the fun that we can before school starts. Before routine sets in and we’re all busy going through the motions of life. One way to bring a little summer fun back to the school year is by enjoying a Chocolate Peanut Butter Popsicle as an after school snack.
While shopping at my local Target for school supplies, I grabbed some NESTLÉ® NESQUIK® Powder to make this chocolate peanut butter popsicle recipe. I chose NESQUIK® Powder because it offers 8g of protein when combined with 8 fluid ounces of low-fat milk and it has no artifical colors or flavors.
We head back to school after Labor Day, and it’s still quite warm out. When my kiddo gets home from school, he’s often hot and hungry. To help him cool off and refuel, I want to give him a great tasting snack that I know provides the nutrition he needs with the chocolatey taste he loves. That’s where these Chocolate Peanut Butter Popsicles come in.
To make these Chocolate Peanut Butter Popsicles, you need just a few ingredients that you may already have on hand. These particular Chocolate Peanut Butter Popsicles are packed with protein thanks to the addition of NESQUIK® Powder, low-fat milk, peanut butter and Greek yogurt.
Pure Vanilla Extract
Sweetener of Choice, optional
Combine all of the ingredients together, and pour into popsicle molds. Tip: I used my high-powered blender to combine the ingredients as I was concerned the peanut butter would not mix well with a spoon only.
Slip them into the freezer for a minimum of 6 hours to ensure they are completely frozen. Making these in the morning, when you’re already serving your kiddos an ice cold glass of low-fat milk mixed NESQUIK® Powder as part of a complete breakfast to help them start their day, ensures they’ll be ready by the afternoon when your kiddos come running through the door after a fun day at school!
