Y’all remember that last week, I took a field trip with one of my dearest friends to Ikea. It was so much fun! Our road trip took me back many years when we moved to Florida together – as young, naive girls. We shared so many adventures then. She left Florida for Colorado and New Hampshire long before the thought crossed my mind to leave. I can remember how sad I felt the day that she left. We lost touch for a little bit, our lives were going in different directions. Today, we both live on Cape Cod, are married to wonderful men, and both have one little boy. I’m so happy that our lives have come full circle and we’ve reconnected.
Ok, back to our field trip. I know y’all are dying to see what goodies I acquired!
and snagged two in white also. They were on sale for $3.99, I just couldn’t resist!
I skipped the rugs, mostly because I didn’t really look at them. I spent quite a bit of time browsing the candle area. I came home with some pillar candles, that won’t bend when warm:
and grabbed two of these el cheapo (even for Ikea) holders:
Every once in a while, I like to burn a scented candle. Usually, right before spring. When I’m really itching for summer after being cooped up for the long New England winters. I walked past the most amazing pear scented candles, so I bought two. The Texan insists that he can’t smell them.
Sadly, I skipped the bins that I had hoped to use to better organize The Boy’s toys. I didn’t realize that they were collapsable. Not a good idea for a boy and his toys. And, since his toys are already taking over our home, it seemed like a great idea to bring more in. Just some little finger puppets, aren’t they cute?
One thing that I saw that surprised me was the amazing collection of outdoor dining furniture. How did I miss that? The Texan and I have been talking about replacing our outdoor set for a long time, and I just love what Ikea has to offer. Look at this table :
Expands from seating for four to seating for more! Though the leaf hanging down on either side is a bit weird to me, I do love the table. And the matching arm chairs:
Don’t you get that feeling that you’ve seen them somewhere for twice the cost? Looks as though The Texan and I will be making a trip there soon! Hooray!
But my deal of the day was most certainly this:
But, I chose the white one. Next time, I’m going bold and getting red!
Which items are on your Ikea wish list?
Ha! I love how the deal of the day was the toilet brush – awesome.
