After cupcakes and dinner out to celebrate The Texan’s birthday last Friday, we were excited for Saturday’s warmer weather. That meant a trip to the playground! Woo-hoo! It’s rare that the weather on Cape Cod allows for outdoor play. On our drive to the playground, we passed a train station and the headlight caught my eye. We pulled over just in time to park and hop out as the train went chugging by.
If you read my weekly menu plan posts, you know that we love making homemade pizza. Last week, we piled it with wonderful veggies. Some chicken, too. You know, The Texan can’t eat a meal without some kind of dead animal. Just like a true Texan should.
The Boy tested me on Tuesday. We’ve been having an issue with these pesky Legos. They are everywhere. We had a beautiful storage system for them; yet The Texan and I have been a bit lax about having The Boy put away his Legos consistently. It seems that everything is always being constructed – always a work in progress. I couldn’t look at it any longer. He spent the entire day picking up his Legos. One by way. Sorting. Sorting. Sorting.
Did you notice the trash bag? Yeah, I had to keep my promise and we put the Legos that weren’t sorted and put away by bedtime in the trash bag. I haven’t figured out how we’re going to give those back, or when. But, I will say that a lesson was learned. Since that day, The Boy has been putting them away almost before he is finished playing! Sticking to what you say is important. One day, I’ll tell you about the time my dad too my bedroom door off the hinges.
Currently, I am OBSESSED with grapefruit topped with ginger and cinnamon. Best. Snack. Ever. (Well, besides popcorn.)
I was treated to a haircut and fantastic blow-dry this week. WHY can’t I get my hair to look like this every day?
Everyday is a special occasion. Especially when you have a freezer meal (lasagna) ready to go for dinner and a fresh bottle of wine! Hooray for Wine on Wednesday!
We all have goals that we’re working toward. Whatever your goal may be, focus and keep aiming. You’ll get there.
What are you doing with yours?
